Program Eligibility

Students from other UC campuses

Applications are accepted on a first-come, first serve basis for eligible applicants.
Last day to apply is December 1, 2009!

The UC Davis Quarter Abroad Program welcomes applications from students enrolled at other UC campuses! You are encouraged to apply to any of the Quarter Abroad programs at any time during the application period. Please do be aware that our programs are offered on a first-come, first-served basis, so it is best to apply as early as possible.

All students from other UC campuses must meet the same eligibility requirements as regular UC Davis students. To be eligible to participate in a UC Davis Quarter Abroad Program, all applicants must:

  • Have at least a 2.0 GPA or above
  • Be in good academic standing (students on Academic Probation or who are Subject to Disqualification will not be considered)
  • Be in good disciplinary standing with your university. For the purposes of Quarter Abroad, good standing means a student is not currently subject to disciplinary action by their campus and has not been previously disciplined for conduct that threatened the health or safety of self or others. Past judicial sanctions will not necessarily disqualify a participant, however the nature and number of incidents on record will be carefully considered.
  • Meet any program specific requirements or prerequisites (see individual program pages for details)
In addition to meeting the basic eligibility requirements, there are a few additional steps you will need to take to complete your application. (Please be sure to read the below steps!!!!)
  1. Create a Quarter Abroad account and follow the instructions to complete an application. This will include completing the online portion of the application and submitting a completed enrollment packet to the UC Davis Quarter Abroad Office. Please note, you will not be able to pay the $250 deposit until after you have completed Step 3 (below), so go ahead and submit your Enrollment Packet without paying the deposit. Also, you will not have a UC Davis student ID number, so enter your student ID number from your home campus instead.
  2. Contact your Registrar's Office on your home campus to submit an Intercampus Visitor (ICV) Application to request permission to come to UC Davis for one quarter in order to participate in the Quarter Abroad Program. Please be aware that you cannot be officially accepted into a Quarter Abroad Program until the ICV application has been received by UC Davis and approved. It is important to start this process as early as possible, as it can take several weeks for this process to be completed. Contact your Registrar's Office to find out how early you can submit the ICV application.
  3. Once you receive confirmation (from your home campus Registrar's Office) that your ICV application has been approved, send an email to Quarter Abroad at quarterabroad@ucdavis.edu to notify us that this is done and to provide us with your UC Davis Student ID Number.
  4. Pay the $250 deposit to the UC Davis Cashier's Office. For more information about how to do this, log back into your QA application and follow the instructions that explain how to make the QA deposit.
