Cancellation/Withdrawal Policies
Cancellation of a Program by Quarter Abroad:
Quarter Abroad may cancel a program due to low enrollment, for safety concerns, or other reasons that make continuation of a program in the planned location difficult. If a program is cancelled, Quarter Abroad will contact enrolled students.
A refund will be given if the QA Office cancels a program and you choose not to participate in an alternate Quarter Abroad offering. Because Quarter Abroad will not refund your airfare, you should purchase trip cancellation insurance. Most travel agents, including STA Travel, offer trip cancellation insurance (see your agent directly for details). At the bottom of the Useful Links page there is a list of sources for travel insurance information.
Student Withdrawal from a Program:
If you need to withdraw from a Quarter Abroad program prior to its commencement, you must complete an official Withdrawal Form. You may request the form via email by contacting quarterabroad@ucdavis.edu. Be sure to provide a statement of your reason(s) for cancellation and any available supporting documentation (medical forms, police reports, etc). Please be aware that you are also responsible for any additional cost (flights, etc.) that you may incur by enrolling in a Quarter Abroad Program.
If you fail to officially cancel from the program (by submitting the required Withdrawal Form), you will be charged all program fees. Many of our programs have waiting lists, and by failing to withdraw, you may be denying someone else the opportunity to study abroad. There are no refunds for non-attendance. The cancellation schedule is outlined below.

**NOTE: Deposits and fees cannot be used to pay for any future Quarter Abroad programs that you may participate in.
