After reading the information below, you'll want to meet with a drop-in advisor at the Financial Aid office in Dutton Hall and attend a Financial Aid workshop at the Education Abroad Center.
Financial aid monies may be applied to UC Davis Quarter Abroad. If you are a financial aid recipient or think you might qualify, complete a FAFSA application as normal.
Once students are selected for UC Davis Quarter Abroad, a list will be sent to the Financial Aid office. You should check the Financial Aid web site to determine the funds in your financial aid package. Your UC Davis Quarter Abroad program budget will be incorporated into your yearly cost of attendance and your aid will be reviewed. The Financial Aid is packaged for the amount of the program, so it is possible for a non-financial aid recipient to become eligible if the program cost is more expensive than remaining on campus. If you are unsure, please check with the UC Davis Quarter Abroad Coordinator.
The first program fee ($250 deposit) for UC Davis Quarter Abroad is not covered by financial aid. You must make this non-refundable $250 deposit payment in order to participate. If this causes a problem, you may contact the Financial Aid office to discuss options for emergency loans, etc. Be aware that you may be required to purchase a plane ticket before financial aid money is available.
The Financial Aid office will pay your registration and educational fees via your student account electronically. Financial Aid will also pay your second program fee, if applicable, as it appears in your student bill. If your financial aid award does not cover the total cost of the program (including tuition) you will need to pay the difference to the Cashier's Office by the due dates. Financial aid questions for Inter-Campus Visitors should be directed toward your home campus Financial Aid Office. If you have concerns please check with the UC Davis Quarter Abroad Coordinator via e-mail at quarterabroad@ucdavis.edu.
