Cost and Financial Aid FAQ's

  • How much does it cost to participate in a UC Davis Quarter Abroad program?
The cost of Quarter Abroad programs vary by location and range from about $8,000-$13,000. • As a UC Davis student, can I get Financial Aid to study abroad?
UC Davis students need to have filed a FASFA for this academic year in order to be eligible for scholarships or UC Davis financial aid. If you are currently receiving financial aid, your existing package will be applied to this program and you may be eligible for additional loans to cover the additional cost of the program. Please contact the financial aid office in Dutton Hall to discuss how much aid you can expect to receive while studying abroad.
  • Will my Financial Aid budget be increased for this program?
Yes. The Financial Aid Office will revise your budget to reflect the cost of your quarter abroad. You can then speak to a Financial Aid Officer about additional aid eligibility.
  • Is travel to the program site included in the budget?
Yes. Travel costs are included in the overall budget for each program but are not charged as part of the program fees. This amount is an estimate of how much a flight to the program location will cost. You are free to make your own flight arrangements and prices will vary. As a participant you will receive a Program Specific Guide that will provide instructions for travel, identify the nearest international airport and explain the options for transportation from the airport to the program site. For more information on program costs, please refer to the individual program page on the Quarter Abroad website.
  • Are excursions included in the cost of the program?

The cost of these trips is listed in the budget as part of the “In-Country Tuition and Fees” for each program at the bottom of each program page on the Quarter Abroad website. For some programs, students can choose to participate in additional excursions through the host institution. These costs are paid by the student and are in not included in the standard budget.
