In Japan, you will complete up to the equivalent of the next 4 quarters of language study, while a course on Japanese culture will help you understand and explore the cultural riches in and around Japan's ancient capital of Kyoto.

Orientations

There will be one on-line general orientation and one country-specific orientation on campus, both are mandatory. There will also be an in-country orientation once you arrive in Kyoto. Students will have the opportunity to learn about and acclimate to Kyoto and participate in planned activities. These activities will include a welcome and introduction to Kyoto Seika University.

Academics

Students will take accelerated Japanese language classes at Kyoto Seika University. In addition to the language courses, all students will take a Japanese culture course (JPN 98/198) to help them better understand the city of Kyoto and its surroundings.
