ACCOMMODATIONS / MEALS

CAPA coordinates housing for program participants. Students choose either shared apartments or home stays with British families.

Apartments
CAPA apartments are located in various areas throughout Greater London within a 45-minute commute via bus or underground to the CAPA Center. As many buildings within London were built in previous centuries, there is a great variety in terms of building exteriors as well as interiors, and each apartment is unique. Students will share apartments with other UC Davis students, and all apartments will have wireless internet connection. Students will prepare their own meals in apartment kitchens.


 

Homestays
Living with a host family is one of the best ways to fully experience the British culture. The homestay setting provides students with a place to call home, to receive phone calls, as well as to do homework and laundry. In addition, homestay students will have a link to the local culture and customs. British homestays are located within Greater London generally in more suburban areas outside of the city center. Breakfast and dinner is included with homestays and laundry will be provided once per week. An internet connection is not guaranteed in homestay placements.
