Student Conduct
By participating in UC Davis Quarter Abroad (UCD QA) you agree to the following Integrity Code and you understand consequences may be imposed for violation. BE FAMILIAR WITH THESE BASIC ASSUMPTIONS!
- As a program participant students assume dual status as a UC student and as a student of the host institution.
- Student conduct abroad may affect UCD QA relations with the host institution and the local community, or arouse anti-American sentiment.
- Violation of any of the following items may result in disciplinary action while abroad!
THE FOLLOWING MAY RESULT IN DISCIPLINARY ACTION
- Violation of local laws, host institution regulations, and the University of California Policy of Student Conduct and Discipline including UC Davis Off-Campus Jurisdiction policies.
- Disrespect of the customs and traditions of the community.
- Threats or physical violence including sexual harassment toward students, faculty or staff.
- Damage to or destruction of property of others (including host university facilities and community).
- Disruptive behavior, including alcohol abuse in the classroom, on campus or in the community.
- Eviction from lodging due to misconduct.
- Drug use or possession.
- Participation in a disturbance of the peace or unlawful assembly.
CONSEQUENCES
- Misconduct abroad may lead to removal from the program or other disciplinary actions by the Faculty Program Leader and the University of California.
- Students will be informed in writing of any conduct decision and consequences and have up to 48 hours after written notification to begin the appeal process. Appeal procedures are available upon request.
REMOVAL FROM PROGRAM
- If removed from the program students may not receive a refund.
- AND may be responsible for making their own travel arrangements and housing accommodations.
- AND may be required to reimburse UC Davis for financial aid.
- AND may be responsible for personal financial obligations abroad, including and not limited to rent and utility bills.
- AND may be responsible for reimbursement of any damages to property, etc. Your registration may be blocked at UC Davis until these obligations have been met.
- AND may face further sanctions imposed by Student Judicial Affairs, such as suspension or dismissal from the University of California!
APPEAL
If you wish to appeal a disciplinary measure or removal you may do so by informing your Faculty Program Leader. She or he will contact the UCD QA Faculty Director who will make a final determination upon reviewing the disciplinary decision and the appeal. The UCD QA Faculty Director may consult with Student Judicial Affairs.
