WHAT
IS UC DAVIS QUARTER ABROAD?
UC Davis Quarter Abroad (UCDQA) is one of many study abroad options offered by the UC Davis Education Abroad Center (EAC). The Quarter Abroad program is unique to our campus in that quarter-length classes are taught in an international setting by UC Davis faculty. It gives you the opportunity to immerse yourself in the culture, language and society of the host country !
HOW IS IT DIFFERENT FROM OTHER PROGRAMS?
UC Davis Quarter Abroad is approximately one quarter in length (roughly 10 weeks). You will take UC Davis courses, taught by UC Davis faculty, while earning 12-22 quarter units straight out of the UC Davis Course Catalog (no transferring of credits required). Because courses taken through UCDQA are UC Davis classes, grades will appear on your transcript and will be calculated into the GPA with no delay. You may apply UC Davis Quarter Abroad courses toward your Major, Minor, General Education or foreign language requirements.
AM I ELIGIBLE ?
You need only a 2.0 GPA and good academic standing to be eligible to apply. Programs can have additional prerequisites that vary by program (please refer to “Programs” section of the website for more details). All applicants must also be in good standing with Student Judicial Affairs.
HOW DO I APPLY ?
The application includes:
- On-Line Application Form
- Understanding of Additional Application Responsibilities Form (submitted on-line)
- Passport or passport application (scanned & submitted on-line)
- $250.00 non-refundable deposit paid to the Cashier’s office with the UC Davis Quarter Abroad Deposit Payment Form
- Student Judicial Affairs Clearance Form (submitted on-line)
Students must have all 5 requirements finished before they can be accepted into the program. Please note that programs are filled on a first-come, first-served basis. It is advisable to get your application in early if you’d like to participate. Application deadlines also vary by program and up to date information for these closing dates can be found on our website.
