University of California Education Abroad Program (UCEAP)

Applications for many UCEAP programs are now open for summer 2023, fall 2023, winter 2024, spring 2024 and academic year 2023-24 programs. UCEAP programs offer UC credit, grades, and financial aid. Program options include immersion, special focus, language and culture, and internships. Find a program.

UCEAP Peace Corps Prep Program

​​​​​​​Peace Corps Prep is a free, certificate program to help you develop the skills and experience to become a highly competitive applicant for the Peace Corps and prepare for a career in international development, public service or the NGO sector. Info Session: October 18. Gates Cambridge Scholarship

​​​​​​​​​​​​​​This scholarship fully funds outstanding applicants from countries outside the U.K. to pursue a full-time postgraduate degree (master's or Ph.D.) in any subject available at the University of Cambridge. Deadlines: October 12 (U.S. Citizens), December 2 (International Citizens).

Luce Scholars

​​​​​​​​​​​​​​This program provides stipends, language training and professional placements in Asia for U.S. citizens and permanent residents. College seniors, graduate students and young professionals—with a range of backgrounds and experiences and who have had limited exposure to Asia—are encouraged to apply. Deadline: October 15.

Paul and Daisy Soros Fellowships for New Americans

Fellowships for New Americans honors the contributions of immigrants and children of immigrants to the United States. Each Fellow receives up to $90,000 in financial support toward graduate education and they join a lifelong community of New American Fellows. Deadline: October 27.

UC Davis Eivind G. Lange '77 and Mary G. Puma Graduate Fellowship

​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​This fellowship supports graduate students to conduct research in Chile relevant to the mission of UC Davis Chile Life Sciences Innovation Center. Grants of up to $4,000 are available for 2022-23. Apply. Deadline: October 31.

Donald M. Payne Fellowship

​​​​​​​​​​​​​​$96,000 towards a two-year master’s degree in preparation for entry to the U.S. Foreign Service Agency for International Development (USAID). The program includes mentorship, two paid summer internships and employment with USAID. Applicants must be college seniors or graduates who are U.S. citizens. Deadline: November 4.

Middlebury Institute of International Studies UC Global Alumni Scholarship

​​​​​​​​​​​​​​$10,000 scholarships for master’s degree programs are available to UC alumni who participated in a global program—including study abroad, internships, research, etc. 10+ M.A., M.B.A., M.P.A. or joint programs are available, including International Policy and Development, International Education Management and Teaching Foreign Language.

2023 Critical Language Scholarship (CLS)

CLS is a fully funded 8-10-week summer overseas language and cultural immersion program. Eligible languages: Arabic, Azerbaijani, Bangla, Chinese, Hindi, Indonesian, Japanese, Korean, Persian, Portuguese, Punjabi, Russian, Swahili, Turkish, and Urdu. Apply. Deadline: November 15.

2023 Critical Language Scholarship (CLS) Spark – Virtual Opportunity

CLS Spark is a free, virtual program for U.S. undergraduate citizens to learn Arabic, Chinese or Russian through online classes and activities facilitated by native speakers at a host institution abroad. Scholars will also receive an official language proficiency designation via ACTFL OPI testing. Apply. Deadline: November 15.

Ted Bradshaw Engaged Student Scholars Program

Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities (HACU) Internship Program

LeadNext: Ambassadors for a Global Future

Future leaders aged 18-25 from across Asia and the U.S. will strengthen leadership skills and gain in-depth knowledge of critical challenges facing Asia and the globe through trainings, expert-led master classes and a week-long, in-person global leader’s summit in the Bay Area. Application. Deadline: October 31.

2023-24 GloCal Health Fellowship for Doctoral and Postdoctoral Students

Humboldt University Berlin Research Internships

June–August 2023. This program offers research opportunities to undergraduate and graduate students. Critical Language Scholarship (CLS) Essay Workshop

November 3. Xu Bing is a visual artist internationally recognized for his experiments with written script in a wide variety of media.
