Join an upcoming workshop (September 2023 – May 2024) from the UC-systemwide collaboration among the UC Study Abroad offices and UC Education Abroad Program (UCEAP): Exploring Your Identity Abroad Series.

The Global Learning Hub is committed to promoting access to global learning opportunities for students of color. Participation in global learning can be a great way to explore a passion, advance your academic/personal plans, enhance your resume, and connect with global communities. It can also be an opportunity to explore how racial and ethnic identities are perceived and experienced in varying or similar global learning environments. 

While many students of color participate in global learning opportunities without incident, perceptions of your racial and/or ethnic identity may be different based on the global learning environment you are entering. You may experience unexpected or more intense instances of discrimination. Understanding your global learning environment’s cultural and social climate can better prepare you for such experiences and inform your response strategies.
