Summer Abroad Uganda - On Site

The UC Davis "One Health Uganda" program provides hotel accommodations and all meals, includes excursions to wildlife conservation centers and national parks, and focuses on the interconnectedness of human, livestock, and wildlife health through hands-on learning experiences across various locations in Uganda, all while ensuring participants understand the associated risks of studying abroad.

Summer Abroad Uganda - Cost

The UC Davis "One Health Uganda" program allows eligible students to use financial aid towards program costs, which include lodging, meals, transportation for excursions, entrance fees, and health insurance, though specific fee amounts are to be determined and do not cover personal expenses like airfare or entertainment.

Summer Abroad Uganda - Instructor

Dr. Wilson K. Rumbeiha is a veterinarian and professor of One Environmental Health Toxicology at UC Davis, with over 25 years of experience in basic and translational toxicology research using various animal models. His research focuses on toxic-induced diseases in humans, livestock, and wildlife, with active projects on bromide toxicity in pregnant cattle, drug discovery for hydrogen sulfide poisoning, and diagnostic tests for sodium monofluoroacetate poisoning.

Summer Abroad Uganda - Courses

UC Davis Summer Abroad Uganda offers students the opportunity to earn units over the summer through immersive coursework, enhanced by local excursions, guest lectures and reflective assignments.
