Enrollment Opens This Week for Summer and Fall Quarter 2024 Programs
Submit your enrollment starting Wednesday, January 10, to reserve your spot for UC Davis Quarter Abroad, Summer Abroad, Summer Abroad Internship and Virtual Summer Internship programs. Program Spotlight: Paradise Found—Sustainable Planning and Design (NEW)
Explore sustainable planning/design in Belize’s unique ecosystems—a pristine barrier reef and inland rainforest. Engage in hands-on studio work, collaborating with peers to design creative solutions for energy, water, building design, understanding indigenous cultures and local needs, food systems and other aspects of holistic visitor-serving design and operations.
University of California Education Abroad Program (UCEAP)
2024-25 UCEAP program enrollment is now open. Application open dates and deadlines vary by program, beginning in Winter Quarter. UCEAP programs offer UC credit and financial aid. Program options include immersion, special focus, language and culture, and internships. Find a program.
UC Davis Study Abroad Awards
The Global Learning Hub is offering financial awards for UC Davis students. Study Abroad Award applications are available in your UC Davis Study Abroad account once you’ve been saved a spot on a summer or fall 2024 program. Summer Abroad Financial Aid Estimator is Now Available
The Summer Abroad Financial Aid Estimator includes all 2024 UC Davis Summer Abroad and UC Davis Summer Abroad Internship programs. Use the estimator to receive an immediate aid estimate. Financial aid questions should be directed to the Financial Aid office through Contact an Expert.
UCEAP Global Scholarship
To make study abroad accessible to all UC students, UCEAP offers up to $1 million annually through the Global Scholarship. Scholarships range from $1,000 for summer to $2,000 for fall, spring, or academic year programs. You could be one of over 500 students selected for a Global Scholarship. UCEAP Scholarship Applications open January 15 for 2024-25 programs.
UC Davis 2023 Study Abroad Photos Contest Winners Announced
The annual UC Davis Study Abroad Photo Contest aims to recognize and celebrate student photography taking place on the many study abroad programs offered throughout the year at UC Davis. Congratulations to our 2023 contest winners: Alexander Hu ’26, civil engineering major (‘A Holy Glow,’ in the PLACES category) and Santhosh Nandakumar, physiological science major at UCLA (‘In Par With Nature,' in the PEOPLE category).
Competitions, Challenges, and Funding
Teaching Assistant Program in France (TAPIF)
TAPIF fellows receive a monthly stipend to teach for seven months in France. Applicants must be U.S. citizens and permanent residents, aged 20-35, with a bachelor’s degree by the program's start, and who speak French at B1 level or above. Deadline: January 15.
U.S. Teaching Assistant Program (USTA) in Austria
140 USTA fellows will receive a stipend and medical insurance to teach English from October 1, 2024–May 31, 2025, at secondary schools throughout Austria. Applicants must be U.S. citizens who hold bachelor’s degrees by the start of the program. Deadline: January 15.
David L. Boren Scholarship
This scholarship funds $8,000 for a summer program (STEM applicants) to $25,000 for a semester or year program to U.S. citizens interested in national security to study less commonly taught languages in world regions critical to U.S. interests. Contact UCEAP to learn about eligible UC study abroad programs. Deadline: January 31.
Fulbright U.K. Summer Institutes
The Fulbright U.K. Summer Institutes are three- or four-week funded programs for U.S. first- and second-year students with little travel experience outside North America. Participants explore the culture, heritage and history of the U.K. while experiencing higher education at a U.K. university. Minimum 3.7 GPA. Deadline: February 1.
Frederick Douglass Global Fellowship
During this four-week fully funded summer program, underrepresented undergraduate students conduct a comparative study of social justice leadership in America, South Africa and Ireland exploring the legacies of social change leaders. Apply. Deadline: February 1.
Donald A. Strauss Scholarship
Scholarships of $15,000 are available to sophomore- and junior-level students of any citizenship status with a desire to “make a difference” in local, national or international communities. Recipients implement a sustainable public service project anywhere in the world. Campus Deadline: February 1.
Global Aggies Award for LGBTQIA+ Rights
This award supports UC Davis student global learning and engagement regarding the issues that LGBTQIA+ communities and individuals face around the world. This includes research or creative work, internships/externships, or other projects that advance the rights and/or well-being of LGBTQIA+ people globally. Deadline: February 21.
Widening Circles Social Impact Program Travel Grant
$500 full program fee awards and $1,500 travel grants are available for students who add an in-person internship or volunteer position in conjunction with the Widening Circles program. Register for free through Omprakash and complete our funding application. Deadline: March 15.
UC Davis Global Grad Grants
These grants provide $2,000 funding plus pre-departure support for UC Davis graduate or professional students seeking to participate in a globally-focused social impact program or in globally-focused research over the summer. Students can choose between two funding tracks: Social Impact or Research. Deadline: March 15.
Eisenhower Global Scholars
Eisenhower Global Scholars is an opportunity to spend the entire 2024-25 academic year of postgraduate study leading to a master's degree in public policy at the University of Oxford or international relations at the IE University in Madrid. All courses are in English. Deadline: March 22.
Charles B. Rangel International Affairs Summer Enrichment Program
Full funding is available for a six-week summer program at Howard University in Washington D.C. This program provides a deeper appreciation of current issues and trends in international affairs, a greater understanding of career opportunities in international affairs, and the enhanced knowledge and skills to pursue such careers. Deadline: February 6.
APRU Virtual Global Health Case Competition
Join a team of three to six students from around the world in this fun, educational competition to address a real-world global health challenge. $1,000 prize. Case challenge released on March 10.
Global Leadership, Internships, and Research
UC Davis Widening Circles—Global Social Impact Program
June 24–August 23. Explore pathways for learning, and acting with purpose and humility in the face of global inequality and injustice. Program includes an online curriculum, guidance from mentors, peer-to-peer learning and digital storytelling. Funding and travel awards available for UC Davis undergraduate and graduate students. Register for free.
The Othering & Belonging Institute Summer Fellowship
This is a paid, remote research fellowship—for undergrad, grad, recent grads and doctoral students in their 1st or 2nd year—to build the next generation of researchers and community leaders committed to social and racial justice by providing mentorship and hands-on experience with social science research. Deadline: January 14.
Aggies Leading the Way! Undergraduate Leadership Conference: Mapping your Journey!
This free conference aims to help students navigate twists and turns by identifying the purpose behind their journey, mapping out what they need to embark and learning how to keep moving forward. Open to all undergraduate students! Register. Deadline: January 21.
UC Davis Washington Program: Summer 2024
The UC Davis Washington Program offers professional development and internship opportunities that help inform students' transition from study to professional practice. Students can apply for an internship in any field. There are many global opportunities in D.C.! Deadline: January 29.
APRU Global Health Mini-Certificate Training in Health Research Ethics
February 15, 22, 29, 5–7:15 p.m. The APRU Global Health Mini-Certificate Training is a free three-session class that aims to give students opportunities to strengthen their capacities in ethics to conduct health research. Register. Deadline: February 1.
UC Davis Public Scholars for the Future
This is an interdisciplinary cohort-based program for Ph.D. students who are interested in developing their community-engaged research with non-university partners. Students will be prepared to incorporate community engagement into their disciplinary field of study, research design and methods. Application. Deadline: February 1.
Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities (HACU) National Internship Program
June–August. Are you looking for a paid internship this summer? The HACU internship program is open to all students. Apply for an internship with one of HACU’s partners. Financial support is available for housing and travel. Virtual and in-person opportunities are available in all fields. Deadline: February 2.
UC Davis Global Ambassador Mentorship Program Mentor Fellows
Become a mentor fellow and provide mentorship and friendship to new international students, develop programming, build leadership skills and contribute to the global community at UC Davis! Open to current undergraduates. Participants are eligible for a $500 payment. Apply. Deadline: February 4.
UC Davis Undergraduate Research, Scholarship and Creative Activities Conference
April 26–27. This conference is designed to acquaint undergraduate students with the process and academic rigors of presenting research in a scholarly manner and in an affirming environment. Submit a presentation proposal for your global research! Register to present. Priority Deadline: February 9.
Universitas 21 Global Citizens Program
April 3–26. Free for UC Davis undergraduate and graduate students, this online leadership program gives students the opportunity to develop skills needed to thrive in the 21st century while tackling the world’s pressing problems outlined in the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals. Apply. Deadline: February 21.
U21 Aspire
U21 Aspire is an online development micro-program for aspiring social entrepreneurs and change makers. The free, online hub provides on-demand access to video content from successful social entrepreneurs and leaders and fellow students who have set up their own social projects. Open to all students. Council on Foreign Relations Internship Opportunities (Virtual and In-Person)
The Council on Foreign Relations’ Blavatnik Internship Program and Robina Franklin Williams Internship Program provides training in the field of foreign policy and international affairs through a variety of positions in NYC or D.C. Paid interns work alongside staff while gaining valuable experience through exposure to leading foreign policy experts.
Together for Wellness
Together for Wellness is a free digital wellness website for all Californians with resources for mental and emotional health, family well-being and other support topics. We are currently collecting recommendations for additional resources and surveys for website evaluations. Digital flyer.

January 23, 4–5 p.m. International Center, Conference Room 3119. Join this info session to learn about becoming a mentor fellow and provide mentorship and friendship to new international students. Undergraduate mentor fellows develop programming, build leadership skills and contribute to the global community at UC Davis.
UC Davis Global Learning Conference
April 6, 8:30 a.m.–5:30 p.m., International Center. This conference provides learning opportunities to articulate and market your global perspective/experience, network, develop your resume and cover letter, learn from seasoned professionals in various fields, connect with peers, and explore resources and opportunities for your future.
