Gabrielle Gutierrez

Hello! My name is Gabrielle Gutierrez, and I am a second-year Computer Engineering student at UC Davis. I was born and raised in Fresno, CA, where I grew up in a diverse community and was exposed to many different cultures. Coming from a Hispanic household and taking folklórico dance classes throughout my life has allowed me to stay connected to my roots and embrace my heritage.

This past summer, I had the opportunity to study abroad in Switzerland and France through the UC Davis World Cinema and European Film Festival program. During this program, I attended the Locarno Film Festival in Locarno, Switzerland, where I met filmmakers and actors while experiencing a wide range of artistic European films. This experience was truly life-changing in every aspect. It expanded my worldview, strengthened my independence, and inspired me to help other students discover global learning opportunities that best fit their goals. On campus, I have been involved in the Davis Newman Catholic Center, Davis Design Interactive and RunIt Club, an all-girls running club. In my free time, I enjoy going on runs and hikes, watching new movies and shows, taking dance classes for fun, playing the piano, spending time with friends, exploring new food spots, and traveling.
