Campus Resources

If you are concerned about getting accommodations for a disability when participating in a global learning opportunity, or about how your identity (e.g., race, ethnicity, nationality, gender, sexuality) may be viewed in a new global learning environment, let Global Learning Hub staff and other campus units provide support and guidance.

A few key points to keep in mind:

  • In the case of students with disabilities, it is important to notify the Global Learning Hub and engage campus resources as early in the process as possible so there is time to research support options.
  • Responses to your identity can vary according to different cultural, social and legal contexts. It will help to research your global learning location beforehand to prepare for potential challenges and how best to address them.

It is reasonable to have concerns about studying, working, interning and/or volunteering in a new global learning environment—please don’t give up before exploring those concerns and learning more. Overcoming obstacles can be one of the most gratifying elements of participating in global learning opportunities!
