A Message to Students and Parents
I was born and raised on a farm in rural Western Uganda. Some of my grandparents worked for Murchison Falls National Park and I grew up hearing stories about wildlife and nature. I grew to appreciate challenges at the human-wildlife interface which led me into veterinary medicine and toxicology fields. I am aware of challenges facing the world today such as environmental pollution and global warming. Developing countries are very vulnerable to these issues and one health issues in that region can directly affect us here in the U.S. I am therefore very passionate about sharing my knowledge and culture with students. This background makes me uniquely qualified to teach this study abroad course in Uganda with the hope that it will open up unique opportunities for our students."
