Summer Internships in Japan - On Site

Engineering and Computer Science

Accommodations

Participants will live in apartments with other students from UC Davis Summer Internship programs. Each student will share a double room (bedding included) as well a communal bathroom and kitchen. In some cases, a video platform screening may be required with the housing provider.

Participants should be open to all types of accommodations, as housing placements are based on a number of factors such as availability, program length, cost, number of participants and proximity to the internship site. Specific details about accommodations and local transportation to and from internship site will be provided within the month prior to departure.

UC Davis reserves the right to change the accommodation location. Should this be necessary, we will arrange alternative lodging. Please note that elevators, air conditioners and other modern conveniences may not be available in all locations.

Meals

A welcome dinner and farewell dinner are included in the program cost. All other meals are not included in the program cost and are the responsibility of the participant.

Excursions & Activities

Two organized excursions and monthly international networking parties are included. Possible excursions may include:

  • Visit to Kamakura
  • Tokyo city tour
  • Visit to Nikko
  • Visit to Hakone

Study Abroad Advisory of Student Risk

Participation in this UC Davis Study Abroad program requires travel to and extended living in a foreign location(s) abroad. UC Davis Study Abroad endeavors to reduce and mitigate risk wherever possible. However, the environments and risks associated with living in these locations are substantially different than those found during a regular course of study at UC Davis. All participants must download and review the following information prior to departure. Any questions should be directed to the Program Coordinator.
