Summer Abroad Japan

Based in Tokyo and Kyoto, this program explores Japan’s design culture and includes visits to castles, temples, and unique museums.

Summer Abroad China - Travel

The study abroad program provides pre-departure and on-site orientations, requires students to arrange their own travel with detailed instructions provided, includes van and train transportation within Australia, and involves securing the necessary visas and insurance coverage, with additional resources for international and LGBTQIA+ travelers.

Summer Abroad China - Cost

The "Global Fashion in China" program fees vary and do not include airfare or personal expenses, while financial aid may be available, and accommodations include lodging, select meals, transportation, and health insurance.

Summer Abroad China - On Site

Students will stay in hotels with two beds and free internet in Shanghai and Wuxi, with meals, some on-campus facilities, and optional excursions, while accommodations may change if necessary.

Adele Zhang received her B.S. in Industrial Design with a specialization in Apparel Design and worked in the fashion industry and textile trading business for years before she moved to California for her M.F.A. in Textile Arts & Costume Design at UC Davis.

Summer Abroad Europe - Cost

The "Design in Europe" program offers financial aid options, includes fees for lodging, group meals, excursions, and health insurance, with personal expenses such as airfare, meals, and entertainment being the responsibility of the participant, and all fees subject to change.

Tim McNeil is a Professor in the Department of Design at the University of California Davis and Director of the UC Davis Design Museum.

Summer Abroad Europe - Travel
