Summer Abroad Belize - Cost

The "Paradise Found—Sustainable Planning and Design" program fees cover shared lodging, meals, transportation, and field trips, while additional personal expenses like airfare, entertainment, and medical emergencies are not included, with financial aid potentially available for eligible students.

Summer Abroad Belize - Travel

The study abroad program includes pre-departure and on-site orientations, requires students to arrange their own travel, provides visa guidance (none required for U.S. citizens), and offers insurance and additional resources for international and LGBTQIA+ travelers.

Summer Abroad Belize - On Site

After arriving in Belize from June 18-21, you'll stay at Jaguar Reef resort for orientation, followed by dormitory accommodations at IZE Blue Creek and South Water Caye, where meals and various outdoor activities, including snorkeling and cave hikes, are included.

Summer Abroad Thailand - On Site

The "Climate Resilience in Thailand" program at UC Davis involves accommodations at Chulalongkorn University in Bangkok, where students will live in a nearby residence, and enjoy affordable meal options at local eateries, with organized excursions to cultural and ecological sites including Ayutthaya and Khao Yai National Park, all while adhering to specific risk advisories for studying abroad.

The "Climate Resilience in Thailand" program at UC Davis offers financial aid options for eligible students and outlines its program fees, which are subject to change and exclude airfare and additional personal expenses. Estimated costs for UC and non-UC students include a non-refundable summer abroad fee, course fees, and accommodation charges, with specific items covered such as lodging, meals, transportation, entrance fees, and GeoBlue health insurance. Students are also advised on expenses not covered, including personal travel and medical costs.

Claire Napawan is an Associate Professor and Director of the Landscape Architecture + Environmental Design Program, housed within the Department of Human Ecology. She is also an architect, landscape architect, urban designer and academic who has designed and studied urban environments for over 15 years.
